WOW ... all I can say is WOW !!!

I can clearly see how this gets escalated and becomes a big problem. Brokerages in the US just deduct money from your check with no documentation and then put up a stone wall so you cannot find out why. They do not provide proof that their customer hacked it from their invoice and most times it just feels like this is the way they increase their revenue.

If this is the case here, and Agility is utilizing this process to get these funds that should have been originally paid to them, then that's great! Hopefully brokerages who just hack your invoice will work something out instead of just raping your revenue.

Dont know how i feel about this statement. Brokers paid money to orginal carriers, charged back fines ( cant confirm legitmacy) and had shortage/ damage claims. All which are grounds for reasonable deductions.

Ive litteraly been deducted $100 by a US brokerfor the dumbest reason

Driver picked up a load in NC on a Friday for a Monday delivery in the GTA and the load required macropoint.

He got to the yard on Saturday, and turned macropoint off becasue he didnt want the tracking to follow him home.

He deliverd Monday 8am on time .

Broker deducted $100 because driver turned tracking off over the weekend

Words cant express the anger I felt that day

I dont agree with this policy and have seen brokers charge by the hour when Macropoint drops off as the driver goes through a no cell service area

All these stupid hold backs, fines and whatever else is getting crazy. We should all become like the rail and steamship lines. Pay first and then you get your freight.

it never made sense in the first place, I understand the need to extend credit to keep the economy flowing, but let me get this straight, your monthly mortgage/rent goes out like clockwork, so does your property taxes and energy bills, so does your insurance, payroll, and equipment finance...but my transportation bills need 60 days to be paid?? And the crazy part is, most of the shippers we work with actually pay out within 7 to 10 days. But I'm always told by brokers "we haven't been paid by our customer yet"

This whole Agility organization and their legal representation sounds as greasy and slimy as a catch basin in an oil change shop. These people aren’t some sort of “white knights” trying to recover illegally obtained funds stolen by unscrupulous freight brokers. Indeed, as the article states, one of the brokers who got caught up in a double brokerage scam actually did the right thing and paid the carrier who hauled the freight. His thanks for this……another, unrelated shipment gets stolen and held for ransom. One thing is for certain, Agility just hit a home run in the “how to lose customers” contest. Hope they go down in flames.
