I'm I missing something here.. how is 104" x 39" x 54" (L x w x h) 2 skid spots as per title of thread?

Two skid spots…….plus a little, tiny, itsy, bitsy bit more! If it was indeed two skid spots, wouldn’t the number 96 appear somewhere in the description? Oh…..I know…..turn it sideways!!!!!
Oh, I have been schooled on this one once. Somebody explained it like this:
Them: One skid spot is 48 X 48 right?
Me: Yes
Them: That makes 2 skid spots 96 X 48 right?
Me: Yes
Them: 96 X 48 = 4608 sq inches
Me: OK
Them: 104 x 39 = 4056 sq inches so it's less than two skids.
Me: That's not how it works.
Them: Why not?
Me: The piece is over 96 inches so what I'll do is charge you for two skids and then crunch it down with another piece of freight into 96 inches so the skids behind it will fit.
Them: Ummmm??? Let me ask the customer.

It is close but "close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades"
Typical broker language, it is like posting a load from Toronto but the freight actually picks up in Oshawa
