Does anyone have any experience, good, bad or ugly with Hauer King Transport MC# 1284708 out of Winnipeg? Looking to book a load with them, any feedback would be appreciated.

So far so good, nearing 80 loads with them since mid last year

Ernie Todd works there and we have known Ernie through various companies for at least the last 5+ years.

Any issues and Ernie will head to dispatch and put the Kahuna Clutch on them.

I'm sure someone from Hauler King is the forum

I've used Hauler King quite a few times. We used to deal with them almost exclusively on some outbound lanes from MB.

They were a good carrier when we used them. Yes they were late sometimes, yes they lost tracking sometimes. But no more than any other carrier really. Nothing stood out as bad with them and they always owned or made up for any mistakes they made, a rare nugget these days.

I haven't done much with them lately, but in fairness I also no longer have much freight in that lane anymore.

Regardless I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again if I got freight in that area. In fact I've reached out a couple times already this year.

Are you saying that you're a carrier and Hauler King is giving you loads that they are taking from brokers?
Where does that statement say anything about brokers? I have brought a lot of customers to this company and I have a lot of customers because I do not bullshit them nor do I bullshit drivers.
If you have a concern about Hauler King. give me a call, I am not hard to find.

Maybe they have direct customers. Nothing wrong with that. I take freight from brokers and carriers that have direct clients.

Doesn't every carrier have direct customers? I'd be more worried about the carrier with no direct clients.....

Nothing odd about a carrier brokering freight (maybe not even overflow freight) to another carrier if it was from of their direct clients.

hypothetical scenario below

We could run GTA -> Nepean YOW1/3 AMZN DC's for our direct clients, but we choose not too, we have a carrier who provides great service, and if we utilize them, we can keep our truck in the GTA, , our brand and logo is being visibly seen on local roads by potential new business, we can service multiple clients within the same timeframe instead of just 1 if the truck heads to YOW1 for a delivery. Quite frankly, our gross margin per load is greater if we broker this lane given the arrangement with the carrier, vs running our own truck out there.

This is one example of why a local cartage carrier utilize other carriers.

Supposedly LoadLink will no longer allow any freight forwarding. If you accept the freight, you have to move the freight in your own trucks.
Ok by me. But I know that affects other carriers.

Again, this whole initiative by LoadLink to rid their platform of “double brokers” is in my opinion, nothing more than a public relations show. This topic was discussed on another thread with the conclusion being, it will be difficult, if not impossible to enforce and it will require LL to dedicate non revenue generating time and staff to monitor, something not normally a component of their business model. If they would concentrate their time and effort into policing non payment issues, which would include a large number of double brokering situations, the users of their service would be much better served.

But you missed the part that it was their direct client. It has nothing to do with LL.

Good thing we don't use load link to obtain loads or work for our fleet. We don't need load link to find loads thank god. However we do use it occasionally to source / review / obtain names of carriers running a certain lane. We definitely aren't fans of LL.
