This guy may cold call you and say he needs immediate deliver and will pay up front with VISA.
When we delivered, we found out the tires were stolen. Stopped doing deliveries for him and he disputed the visa charges and got his money back. Scammed us for $ 4000.00
We are going to the police about him. Does anyone have any more info on this guy?
Says address is 62 Seaton Dr. Aurora

Jokes aside, I believe the "stolen" argument won't hold up in court, since they hired you to haul the freight and agreed to C.O.D. Since payment has not been processed, the freight is held as collateral/escrow. Good to hear that you caught it in time. It sucks to have to go through that whole process, and its one of the reasons why we don't accept credit card as payment for COD shipments. Its either EFT/wire or cash for us.

Is this guy looking to move them locally or out of province? And specifically tires or anything else? Do you have a phone number for him? I'd like to make my team aware of him so we don't end up going through the same thing. The worst part is the credit card can go through at the time but a week or so later it'll be disputed and you'll get a charge back so you're on the hook for the money. Scummy people.

Would love more information as well.

We've gotten calls like this in the past. We almost always say no to credit card, so I don't think he'd get far anyways but still

Good to know about credit card payments, have considered adding it our payment methods, but after reading this I believe my decisions to avoid it has been made. lol

Sorry to hear about the unpaid freight bills too, 21k is no laughing matter.

With all that should you not be able to give that info pics etc to credit card co and get paid?
 
Ok, so this scumbag went by "Albert Flemmings" aka Kevin @ Pave Elite or Elite Paving and did this to us in June of 2022 - creates fake names and emails. That address is actually a storage facility, he gives you a fake delivery address (5605 Chem. de la cote de liesse) then when you call him to come meet you at the location he tells you a different address that is 10 minutes away. For us it was actually delivered to 4448 Rue Garand, Saint Laurent, do you know where he redirected you to?

He defrauded the shipper who was a landscaping company for a lot of money, and then he did the same thing with us for the transportation. There's an investigation and case # with the Peel regional police (in Ontario) - they were investigating as of September 2023.

I can give you the case number and detective who was investigating if you want to reach out him. It's 100% the same crook.

He’s doing the same in Newfoundland now. Buying tires and trying to get truckers to ship them from Newfoundland to QC. I hope this guy gets caught soon.
