B.C. police asking Interpol to help track down convicted truck driver

Seyed said the RCMP seized Mehmi’s passport after his arrest, but the man appeared to have received a second version of the document from Passport Canada to allow his escape.

HOW THE HELL DID THIS HAPPEN.

how did he receive a passport???? honestly we struggled to receive a passport during this same time - took 6 months and we had to show all kinds of proof .... and then had to get our MP involved as it was becoming an emergency at that point

Probably has a cousin in the passport office or bought a fake one.

sadly multiple passports are actually not that hard to obtain in canada, abeit illegal tho... if you have a 3 part or longer name, a simple omission of one of the names or re-ordering of middle names, and I've seen a 2nd and 3rd passport issued to someone by simply changing names and having some basic support docs to match, which isn't that hard. nuff said... Welcome to passport canada.

if your rich enough, plenty of nations offer passports via "investments or purchased citizenship."
