Check the ditches on 11&17.where are all the reefer trucks to go west from Ontario, Seems like once again tons of loads and no trucks
well we will keep on trucks and searching,,,thanksThere is a shortage of Western Canada to ON loads. You will pay a premium to move your freight or make rounder's if possible.
When the market is so unbalanced on a lane I dont know if the trucks are siting in Western Canada trying to get back to ON or redeployed on other lanes.
Plus there are many drivers that spend the winter in warmer climates and return in the spring which causes a shortage of trucks.

has it really? I believe some folks are still running it one way for mid 7's to low 8's. We dont run the lane but curious, with fuel prices as they are now, 5k seems extremely low to run cross country.Rates are back down to 5000 cad on to bc and 5000 bc to on

Agreed - we run a regular lane ... and once in a while need to get a spot load ... low and behold it is actually 1k-1.5K less than the 'normal' rate where you make a living.... %*^$*& to the carriers who agree to move it at that rateNo wonder shippers get excited when a small handful of carriers start discounting their rates when business gets a little slow. Remember, it only takes a couple of carriers to drop their drawers and shippers figure their rates are the new normal. And why wouldn’t they? Who doesn’t like to get things at a discount? What young and ambitious transportation manager in their right mind would turn down low rates that only make him look good to upper management? The result of these actions by a few participants cascades thru the industry as not only shippers ask for these same low rates, but some brokers start to use them as a benchmark for quoting. It is hard to say who does the most damage to rates…..a greedy, who gives a f*** freight broker, or an unprepared, inexperienced, frightened carrier? Hmmmmm?
