finally at least one government agency dealing with this
I've been through a WSIB where we did everything right and it wasn't a pleasant experience. When you don't play by the rules, eventually it bites you. It will be interesting to see the effect this has on these carriers. $200,000 is a big amount even for a large carrier.
 
The "Driver Inc" model is simply illegal and immoral. Carriers who demand that drivers get incorporated are putting these drivers at a huge financial risk in the event of an injury or an audit. In most cases the driver has no idea what his risk is and all they care about is having a higher paycheque without deductions. Now that WSIB has had some success in imposing fines CRS will not be far behind with their own audits. There are literally hundred of millions of lost revenue for the government and now that they have had some success in court they will be on the rest of the carriers like a pit bull on a pork chop.
