Words To Live By

I'm sure everyone has a saying or two that they like to use to guide their lives ... Here are a couple of my favourites;

The good things that come to those who wait are the things left over by those who got there first.

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

Regarding the first quote, it's not bad. 'Good things come to those who work for it' is more along what I would say is the truth (from my experience).

That poor planning one I've used quite a few times in the past and recently, thing is it's still up to me to solve the problem, because someone has to and if you leave someone else to fix it chances are you'll have a bigger problem to fix later. Yaya, delegate what you can, but the big stuff has to be handled.

I wish we had met in person before I moved to the land of the lost...

Daily reminder to myself: "I love Trucking"
hoping after 20 years of this I'll start believing it soon :p

LOL! 26 years deep this July (Not that i'm counting), still a young one by many i've dealt with in the industry. All things aside transportation has been good to me considering where I started, roof over my head and food on the table. Sure it has it's ups and downs and some days just want to try a new adventure, but I can't really complain that much. Such interesting characters and stories have been passed on to others, sure there are some slime bags out there but all-in-all one of the best most honest, down to earth folks I have ever worked and had dealings with. Sort of one of those jobs where it's hard to explain to others exactly what you do and why a simple thing can wreck a day, but everyone in the business knows and understands...pretty sure we all have a similar sense of humor, good or bad. The guy who hired me for my 1st job and ended up getting me into this told me that there is no middle of the road, you either love or hate it...I don't know whether to love him or hate him for getting me into this. :)

That said, if my Lotto Max numbers come up one day, I know I won't be working for much longer.
