April 24, 2010 Blue Streak Logistics picked up a load for us and parked it in Deol Road Carriers yard. It was stolen and worth $35.000 USD.
Things went downhill from there. Ali never returned phone calls about the claim process. Ali's insurance broker would not inform me of the process because Ali had cancelled his insurance right after the claim.
I had to deal with the insurance adjuster and almost 5 months later, the claim was finally resolved except the $5000.00 deductible that Ali did not pay to his insurance company. He claims he was in dispute with them.
I owe Blue Streak $1200.00 for freight which he has yet to invoice me for. Balance is $3800.00
Today I called Ali to ask him for the money, and he says he has no money and cannot pay me. Also the business is closed down. YEAH I THINK I KNOW THAT. Where is the integrity in this industry? He says he will pay me when he gets money. I am NOT holding my breath.
I think all companies should have to disclose the owners names so we can see who is shutting down and re-opening under new names. I now ask all new companies to disclose the owner names. Once a dispatcher was caught off guard and replied that he had no idea who owned the company he worked for but was rude and defensive, Passed on his services.
