Also known as "the only real way to make a profit is to own Loblaw shares - maybe"

Delivery appt, 11pm, Dec 30, 2009
Driver arrives Loblaw Atlas, 10:16pm, Dec 30th
Unload starts at door 37: 3:10am
Unload finishes door 37: 4:30am
Driver told to wait in waiting room, they were scanning load and would call him by door number when scanning complete.
called Atlas Receiving at 6:32 am Dec 31, and was told by “Allan” that the driver could come for paperwork, as they had just finished it 2 minutes ago…which would be 630am.
647 am – driver still waiting for bills from receiving
650 am – driver receives bills from receiving
7:01am – driver released from Gatehouse

And purportedly, their financial results are down due to "supply chain reorganization".........

That's brutal...

I've had shippers that sometimes get freight going to Loblaws, SCM and other big DC's where a driver can grow old waiting.

I of course offer these to our 'A' Carriers if they travel these lanes. I've often been politely told "No Thanks". More carriers need to say no to these places with huge wait times... lumper fee's etc.

I WOULD LOVE... to call a customer back sometime and say "I've tried all day... and no one want's freight going to your consignee!"

Perhaps then, some of these guys can get there act together.

we don't do SCM..... after we had 3 skids from same shipper & when the driver got there he was made to off-load ONE skid.. go out & come back in.. unload another skid.. and yes.. you've guessed it... go out & come back in again.... he was fit to be tied!!!!:) Then to be told that there was too much product & to take it away!!!
