What is up with rates

This is why as a broker, I don't play the rate game. When I have a lane to move, it's same rate all year that I give to carriers. Even tho some carrier does play this game so I have to adjust. But usually, don't like to play that game. At all. We still move over 30000 loads a year with our partners so we must be doing something good! :)

We try to do the same. If we have a lane that we are booking and have done the same lane in the past, we'll say to our carrier 'It looks like we did this one 2 weeks ago, or 2 months ago, etc. for $$$, is that still a fair rate for you?" It's very rare that we dictate the rates to our carriers, we let our carriers inform us on the current fair market values and we then inform our clients as such and for the most part, they are also fair understand the value in using good consistent partners whom need to get paid for their good work.
