VPA Group - Goldenridge Rd - Miss, ON 9052752229
Everyone needs to know, that they are really, really good at telling stories.
Picked up Laredo freight on Monday, gave it to them because they said they could deliver Friday, they had a full load w/ room on back. Finally cleared customs 0957 on the 11th. Instead of advising there was a problem and it wouldn't deliver as advised they were still telling us that although the driver only cross 0957 on the 11th he would be able to make his Temple TX delivery and his 5 deliveries in Laredo and still get our freight off the nose by 5pm Friday the 12th. (wow that's great service). This morning he told us it in fact delivered Friday...wow, who would believe it....not me...called the customer and sure enough not delivered... Then Dennis proceeded to tell us they got there on Friday and were diverted down the road to deliver, sure...then he told us he would fax the pod...all day he told us that blah blah blah. The when i advised him i needed to expedite a small quanitity of the product via air because he couldn't supply pod and the "driver wasn't answering" amazingly the driver showed up at 4pm today.
People we understand "shit happens" and we can deal with it, but we can't deal with one lie on top of another and another. I think the true colors of the carrier come out when there is a problem. Like i told them we can deal with problems, we don't need to look like idiots to our customers. I would have happily told them they wouldn't get it until this afternoon, if i had known.
Dennis isn't a truthfull man, if he says it's delivered, you might want to check.

We have them on our do not use list regarding double brokering and back soliciting. As well, we show an address at Palace Pier and a contact named Al. I can't say when we had our bad experience, obviously it must have been quite a while ago. If it is the same outfit - I quess they win the trifecta - double broker/back soliciting/tell lies!!!

Dealt with John from VPA in the summer. He was a real "treat" to deal with. Had a COD load with VPA - I informed him a week in advance to pay upfront - no credit could be extended to VPA - he never bothered returning my calls all week. Day of delivery came and he was advised the load would not deliver until payment (at this point certified cheque only) was received. He showed up at our office - screaming and yelling - made quite a scene here...first and last time ever dealing with those people again...he used to work at BREST Transport.

I had a situation trying to get paid from VPA in the summer and dealt with John as well. And yes he was a real "TREAT". He stated that he had come from B.R.E.A.S.T. I told him that wasn't good advertising for VPA Group. Needless to say we haven't dealt with them since then.

I first got involved with VPA when Dennis was working there and I had just started working where I am now. Dennis was my go-to for anything from ON and PQ to Laredo, TX or California. His rates were really good, and service was fine as well. A couple operational hiccups with them, but nothing that was really bad.
Dennis left the company and is now dispatching at Royal Logistics in Woodbridge, ON. Will get to this after I finish with VPA.
After Dennis left, i started giving Royal the loads. Again, will continue this in a second.
After a 6 month hiatus, we started using VPA again after an influx of auto loads from ON and PQ to TX and vice versa. Have had no majors with VPA since starting working with them again. Although I have too had heard horror stories about this outfit, i cannot personally claim any major hardship or failure. I have given them over 100 loads in 09 alone.
See bad carrier for more information on Tony / Dennis @ Royal. Not to be confused with Karam @ Royal - two completely different companies.
