Writing was on the wall for that place when GM pulled the production of the Equinox out of there.

This has nothing to do with tariffs. GM's statement clearly states they are adjusting inventory levels as a result of low demand. Nobody is buying these commercial EVs.

It is another reaffirmation that government involvement in business is usually detrimental. The CAMI plant was effective and producing the highly popular Equinox but Justin Trudeau decided to come in and offer big money to GM to produce EV units in the Liberal government's all in poker bet that EV will take off. GM originally suggested that 50,000 units would be built by 2025 but CBC reported that to date that under 2000 have been sold. I guess you can say that they missed their target.

I bet we will be hearing a lot more of this situation going forward.

They have not worked in Cami fulltime since they pulled the little SUV out, The bright drop is a big flop nada to do with tariffs etc. I got that from one of the folks named in the article as he is a buddy.
