The article indicated the tractor was licensed in BC, the trailer in Ontario. That doesn't mean it was indeed Renson, could be another carrier using their trailer, or purchased the trailer and had not de-identified the trailer. I believe Renson was based in Ontario, not BC.

You're correct, Renson is now shut down and their trailers are everywhere. It's probably the reason why it was identified for further inspection. In my opinion, a carrier hauling a trailer from another company should be an indication of further investigation.

It's always too bad that we don't get all the details. With no details we are able to fill in the blank spots with our own theories. Maybe this was a loaded trailer abandoned in the US someplace that the original driver couldn't get across after Renson closed. I was surprised to read that the BOL says 25 skids but the article says it only had 4 skids plus contraband. Why does the picture show the freight to the back doors? What is in the front of the trailer? How did CBP decide to pull that truck in for further inspection before crossing into Canada? Thay can't be that lucky to catch this on a random can they? So many questions!
