Can anyone recommend or suggest a carrier who has a TWIC card for picking-up at a US seaport? I can only assume that there may not be many who have obtained this additional layer of security (???) that complicates our industry. Any assistance is appreciated.

That's pretty much what I thought we would have to do. Thanks for the input.

some of the ports allow the driver to get escorted to load. This usually runs about $50 per hour based on our experience. I know of at least 1 port that even allows the driver to buy a day pass.

We tried the escort idea and were told no. The response we received from this port was " no TWIC card - no entry". We are persuing the local cartage pick-up solution. Thanks anyways.

Twic carded carriers

Deluxe Freight Services, and Truk-King(Zavcor) have Twic cards but only run reefers out of port. In case that helps.

I may have some f/b rolltite work for TWI carded drivers. Usually about 4 loads a quarter, from NJ/PA. Send me an email contact and i will be in touch. tks
