I HAVE THE SAME QUESTION. MC #1758808. THEY BID ON A JOB FOR US BUT I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THEM AND ONLINE SEARCHES AREN'T YIELDING MUCH...
*Update* followed my gut and common sense and went with a trusted carrier of ours instead. I'd rather pay more and get the freight to where it's going safely.
When a carrier comes in $1000 less than everyone else and willing to agree to anything without question (like site deliveries in the middle of nowhere and specific appt times) and they don't want to charge more for that, it definitely tends to tickle my spidey senses...

"TENDERED LOAD TO TRUETRUCK. THEY DOUBLE BROKERED LOAD TO ANOTHER CARRIER, MC1212831. HOWEVER, WE CALLED THAT CARRIER AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THE LOAD. AT THIS POINT, IT APPEARS THE LOAD IS STOLEN!"

New general rule of thumb in trucking. If a broker is brand new and has freight on a not so busy lane chances are they are scammers double brokering. If an American carrier calls you for a load to Canada hang up it is a scam 99.9% of US carriers do not come to Canada. The ones that do we all know for the most part or they have a dedicated contract. 3 truck outfits from Podunck Idaho do not have 3 trucks in Amarillo looking to go to Dartmouth at that awesome buck and a quarter a mile your offering.. I get it not everyone has been around a long time but holy crap folks.. Daily this one truck outfit from blah blah booked my Fort Smith AR load to Dartmouth and now they are ghosting me I have no idea why?? Anybody heard of Podunk trucking from Boise they say they run Arkansas to Dartmouth all the time. I checked safer they are a week old and have one truck what could go wrong.. Sounded like a really nice Ukrainian fella wanted quick pay for some reason..

You really have to shake your head when hearing these stories. I get it, the dispatcher/customer service rep has received little to no training. Has not been given access to Google maps, so they have no idea if the destination is Arkansas or Alberta. Hasn’t been told the difference between a lowboy and a reefer. Where the problem lies is in management. How in heavens name are you going to make a buck in this industry if you don’t train your employees properly. Plus, no one has explained that there are bad guys out there. Wolves in sheep’s clothing, just like the nursery rhyme. Granted, freight brokering isn’t the most complicated business out there but without well trained people, your enterprise is doomed.
