Anyone have any info on "Triple Star Logistics" out of Toronto? Payment history good bad & the ugly!

They may pay their invoice within 30 days, however.

They have been booking our trucks, truck arrives at pick up point, wrong p.o. given, our truck sits for one day or two days waiting, then they cancel the load.

We get nothing - they don't want to or think they should pay for the truck layover. We've had this happen just one too many times in the past few weeks. Triple Star Logistics has been added to our DNU list.

I also realize these are the old Gallop boys ... and nothing has really changed with their attitude.

I believe this is the tail end of Florida so it's probably happening a lot. Be thankful they didn't give you a load of watermelon juice.

Actually Texas ... and truly I think they book our truck with a good rate and when another truck will haul it for $500 less, we loose the load we have been on layover for.

Just beware ....

That's a brutal way to do business.

I have it happen at least once a week... I book a load with a carrier for a fair price. Another carrier calls and wants the load. "What did you cover it for... I'll do it for less." I won't do it. I might be a lot of things... but one of them isn't a guy that goes back on his word.

Shame... if that's what these guys are doing... how do they ever build a partnership with their carriers.

I used to get calls like that. Someone who was late calling in on some loads usually end up trying to get buddy-buddy with you, saying "come on" and "I'll do it $100 less, boss" when you've told them 3 times the load is gone. It's a classic case of "la-la-la-la-I-don't-hear-you." The best you can do is mark their name down and then give them a call if someone bails. Nawk is right though. A deal is a deal and there's no goodwill to be had from promises not kept.

I agree. If I make a deal I stick with it whether it's good or not.

The produce market doesn't play that way. They commoditize you to the highest degree. When they need you, they're all over you but will run their mom over for a buck.

I don't think this is necessarily attributable to Triple Star, BUT if you're going to be in that business, that's what you have to do.

But on the truck side ... those who live by the sword die by the sword. You either decide to play or not.

I have dealt with the Gallop/Triple Star/Scout crew for over 30 years. They have hauled loads for me, and I have hauled loads for them. All through those years, and the millions of dollars of transacted business, never has there once been a problem ... not once.

I just wanted to clarify that I didn't mean to insinuate Triple Star is looking to screw anyone over. I've actually known Adam and Manny for quite a while (Lorne too, who BTW is Adam brother-in-law).

The guys at the market pull the strings ... you'll never get them to pay waiting time on an OTR shipment.

All that was meant is that you can't expect the produce loads to go by general freight rules. It won't happen.

Just companies like Triple Star that work the produce gig play in that arena.

DNU!!! Tony cancelled two loads of mine, ironically because both of the loads got "cancelled"- just to figure out later that they were given to a different carrier for a cheaper rate. Another time, I cancelled a load due to a truck breakdown, and I was put on their blacklist.... fair enough i guess. DNU!

BTW they give a cheap rate just because they pay within 24hrs.... does not justify the $500 difference that triple star is giving compared to other carriers for the same load.

Would not use them if that was the last load available, only problems. Everything is the drivers fault. Were not able to collect on payment, everyone is always in a meeting, had to collect by playing hard ball, not what we like to do but refuse to work for free.

If you are not getting paid, do not deliver their load, they will have to give in, too many non payment issues

Any new information on Triple Star Logistics? Are they paying with in terms? Any information would be appreciated.
