We have a load pending for tomorrow but I just realized we have never hauled recycled batteries before and I have absolutely no idea what to expect.
Just wondering if any carriers on this site have transported recycled batteries before? Are they considered hazardous waste? I found a Transport Canada bulletin that says some types of batteries can be considered hazardous waste but some are not (glad they could clarify this).
I'm also concerned about acid leakage or contamination of the trailer? Are the batteries just sitting open in large bins or do they have to be in some type of sealed container?
All I know is that no customs broker is required due to the low value.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Hi Salma, I believe that Lead Acid batteries ARE considered Hazardous Waste.
