Never dealt with TransAm or Fuel Transport, but if this was me I would just invoice both companies, and I would put a special note on the invoice stating the terms I expect to be paid in, and would state that unpaid bills go into collection after 45 days and would include a call to the customer.

Good luck.

Your only recourse is to the carrier who transferred the freight to you in Toronto. Unlike most cases, you did not sign the bill of lading with the shipper and therefore have no contractual remedy against him (or through the bill of lading act, the consignee as well).
Fortunately, your case can be grounded in Ontario. I believe Transam Carriers factors through Accutrac in Orillia.

400 to Cornwall Wal-Mart fishy? Try finding someone to do it for less. Not to worry though as we do pay our bills, sometimes on time :) and are not ashamed of dealing with Fuel as long as the rate is to our satisfaction...

Good news for you. I have been dealing with Fuel out of Lasalle for a few years now. They were always slow at paying and rates were not great but you could negociate if they need you!.
If they were slow at paying after 1-2 calls the check would be ready at their reception.
The good news is that I just got a check from them for over two grand and the invoices wre no older than 40 days!!!!
I am sure Fuel will not be happy when they find out , their freight was brokered.
If you have problems at Fuel ask for SERO, he is very level headed!

I have dealt with both of them: Fuel Transport and Transam. There is no reason to worry to get $400 from Transam. Fuel pays so far my bills 60 days.
