Trans-Express Lachine Pq

Not recommended

Did only one shipment last year. Picked up in L'Assomption QC. Delivered in Ohio.

Receivers had one of those dug out docks. The dock was flooded after a rain storm (surrounding docks were not). The water level was up over the axles on the trailer.
We had a strict delivery appt to unload. Advised the broker (Trans Express) of the fact that backing into the dock could allow the water into our trailer bearings and contaminate the lubricant.

Dispatcher signed our carrier confirmation with an extra $75.00for replacing the gear oil. We did back in and got water in the bearings, driver took some out and replaced the oil a few times on his way home, and we had our mechanic drain and re fill the hubs when the trailer got back.

All in all the check came without the $75.00 extra that was agreed upon and signed for. The owner claimed the dispatcher was not authorized to do so. I told him that it was his employee and therefore he was responsible. He could not care less!!

We will never work for them again out of principal. Do not trust anyone that does not keep his word!

They are asset based and actually do some distribution work for Loblaws if I'm not mistaken (within Quebec).

Our company DNU'd them years ago for double brokering loads. I don't know if that is still a problem with them though. It's not recent.

Trans Express

Do yourselves a favor and stay the hell away from Trans Express or their numerous shell-companies. They have had more ups and downs than a yo-yo, and when they are down....they take everyone with them, no remorse.

I won't get into more detail here, but heed the warning.
