Seriously? They called us but I can't touch it until next week. THANKS bubba-one for the heads up.

Guys TQL does not own any trucks. Anyone with a little bit of knowledge knows this. I think it is a fail on both parts. My 2 cents.

TQL has actually started to call other brokers to see if they can assist in moving their loads. They are actually selling that they will double broker a brokers load. I've talked to them a few times bout this. They see no problem with it if it's all talked about up front. My boss would kill me and I would kill my people if they were getting another broker to broker our freight.

They have no morals at that place and most if not all of them down there would not know a fifth wheel from a steering wheel. Been a year since I have done one of their loads and I hope I never am in need of doing another one.

Well said, if it takes another brokers dispatchers to book your freight you need to replace your dispatchers (preferably with the ones that are capable of meeting your customers expectations).

Keep well,
Mike

We're a broker in Winnipeg and they used to call us on the regular to see if they could "help" with our freight. They didn't really say anything about being a broker until I asked them how many trucks they had in their fleet. The guy just replied with "well were not a trucking company but we can still help.". I told him that we cannot double broker loads and that I couldn't do business with him. He was still very polite about it but there was still about 8 months where the would phone once a month and solicit their service and I'd tell them the same thing.

I don't understand how they are even still in business with such a poor business structure.

I cringe when I think about this...but I have a sneaky feeling it is far more prevalent then we think. I can think of at least a half a dozen just off the top of my head that do this too.

They often say they have 8000 trucks available. But they don't always say it's not theirs! :)

Some of their agents actually are out on social media, mostly LinkedIn, looking for this type of business. And no, they're not the only ones.

There is still an element of it going on at CHR (but small I would say), and when MSM was seperate from Wheels there was a rep who would continually call on me to ask to help with our freight.

A lot of Canadian brokers actually used the strategy of becoming a US broker's 'go-to' when the industry was in its infancy. There may have been a place for it at one point but that time has passed a long time ago. With information being as free as it is today, there is no reason to broker through multiple hands anymore. There is no value in it ... only risk.

Does anyone else get tired of getting calls from TQL? I just hung up with the same guy that called last week. Again, I told him to please remove us from your call list. We do not double broker. It was the Ohio area code. Normally, I'm very professional and polite with anyone, but I'm going to lose it on this guy if he calls again.

Really? If you can't find your own clients and are so lazy that you need to start asking to double broker, you probably shouldn't be in the business IMO
