Titanium

Hmmm .... it's not like they're out of money, let me put it that way. They must be having an issue with the customer?

I know the owners pretty well ... they are not a skip threat.

We stopped taking their freight well over a year ago. Very slow at paying, if you add up the time and frustration trying to collect it just doesn't make sense (or money) to haul the freight.

We cut them off summer of 2008 when their A/P quit. She was with them a long time and was obviously frustrated as she was left to dodge all the calls....

After calling and calling about payment after she left - was informed that their A/P position would not be filled "right away" - how convenient...that was enough for me....never dealt with again after invoice finally got paid.

Titanium payment

You know what, if you weren't paid quickly, you probably pissed them off. We really like their work. Titanium has huge $$$ behind them, part of a huge corporate group so they are definitely not a skip threat.
Vic DeZen owns them. Top 100 wealthiest Canadians list.

2 things wrong with this post, how is it that all these people pissed them off and what does that have to do with getting paid and just because the owner has lots of money does not mean the company is solvent, people who have lots of money have it for a reason.

Huge $$$ ???

They may be part of a huge corporate group, but what does that have to do with anything? If they were upset about anything a contracted carrier did to them, why not discuss that with the carrier and try to work out something? If by communicating their displeasure by playing games with payment terms seems to be acceptable behavior, then they are demonstrating management incompetence are doomed to fail regardless of their size, and should not be trusted.

I agree completely with ActiveT's remarks. Titanium obviously had money issues at the time we were experiencing great difficulty getting paid. Being "ticked off" as a reason for non payment - which was not the case with us - is completely unprofessional. Due to the many other posts stating the same payment issues - we were not all "out to lunch" here....

Good to know there is money behind Titanium - maybe they should have opened up "the wallet" at the time and took care of their bills in a timely manner. If they had done so - their name wouldn't have ended up on this forum....

Nik_Trans - your name is too close to Niko Trans - do a search on them - another great "paying" company to deal with....

I wasn't supposed to let the cat out of the bag as to who the silent partner is there, but it is Vic de Zen. It's not part of a big corporate group though ... just one of his investments.

It's the active partner who has the attitude 'if they haven't been paid, don't pay'. Not a great way to make friends with carriers for sure ... but no, they are not a skip threat.

Seeing as how I was the OP for this, I might as well respond.

No, I didn't piss them off, all I wanted was to be paid the $195.00 they owed me for what eventually turned into just over 90 days. If calling to find out when a cheque will be issued after that length of time constitutes a reason to be pissed off, then tough bananas, cuz guess what, they pissed me off having to follow up numerous phone calls for a small amount.

Is it just me or are these Titanium posts not making any sense? Some people love them, some hate them and then we have an insider who says not to worry - but they are not paying their bills. Sounds to me like a gross underfunded company that has everyone strung out 60 days ++ which to me sends out huge warning signals.

Not a skip threat = obstreperous??

I agree with you theman regarding "they're not going anywhere", however a little history might display the mindset of the people at Titanium. This is a news excerpt from the Toronto Star, published on Mon Apr 19 2010.

"The RCMP charged De Zen; Royal Group president Doug Dunsmuir and two chief financial officers Gary Brown and and Ron Goegan almost two years ago for their roles in the land deal where a numbered company closely associated with them bought a piece of land in Vaughan and then flipped it back to the manufacturer for a huge profit.

Police also charged De Zen, Dunsmuir, Goegan; former Royal vice-president Luciano (Lu) Galasso and accounting director Gordon Brocklehurst in connection with an arrangement in the sale of a company subsidiary to Premdor Inc.

The RCMP said as part of the deal, Premdor issued a warrant to Royal for the purchase of 200,000 shares of the door company. Royal Group got the warrant but it never entered the company's books, according to the charges.

Senior Royal officials then allegedly exercised the warrant at a set price and sold it into the market in a scheme that benefitted them but defrauded the company, police said."

Would the "silent partner with DEEP pockets" be Vic De Zen perchance? Their pockets may seem to be a little shallower after he finishes paying Brian Greenspan, Alan Gold and Mark Sandler to defend them in the trial that will likely proceed in two phases. The Crown will introduce evidence for the next six weeks while the former executives will present their defense early next year before Justice Richard Blouin.

If they are well financed but take the position of not paying until paid, then what can you discern about the type of people they are? Are they the type who wouldn't tolerate this attitude from their customers, but see nothing wrong with it if they do it? My only hope is that if this is the type of people they are, that they do the world a favor and refrain from having children.

PS. This should have been posted in the other thread about Titanium.

Again ... I'm glad I never took them up on a job offer.

But it's not de Zen with the stance on the money ... it's the managing partner ... de Zen is a silent partner there and the premises where they are belong to de Zen.

Is this same titanium out of Woodbridge, ON?

Titanium is excellent

I've never had trouble with Titanium paying me. Excellent company. There must have been trouble with your load.

Been working with Titanium for a number of years, they were slow awhile back but things have improved don't foresee any problems and payment is always in a timely manner. Be polite and courteous to the people you speak to and they will treat you the same.
