As people know from my previous posts, I'm not one to moan and groan about cheap rates. I got a bid package today that is so outragous, I just have to share it.

Not only does it request you lowest rates on pages of laneways but requests a "Conversion Rebate" this is defined as "a rebate by the carrier to cover all the costs of switching to a new vendor"

Who came up with that one!

In the old days, this used to be called a bribe!

If you are going to give them a "conversion rebate" then I would assess them a "Quote Preparation Assessement"!

This is something that Ryder Integrated introduced that some others have adopted when putting together a proposal ... basically a volume discount.
