Hi, is there a way to ship a full load from El Paso Tx to Toronto by Rail? current dry van rates are near the 4500$ mark

I know very little on rail shipment but if I remember correctly, the ramp to ingate is far from El Paso, TX so the dray rate to pick up will make your total rate very high. Close to dry van rate.

BUT, I might be wrong about this. Worked at a intermodal broker for 7 years ( at the highway department ) so I might be wrong!

We take the first $4300-4500 rate we get from a proven carrier and run with it... anyone in my experience that is willing to move a tandem dry load for less than that, has a higher than normal service exception ratio. For that kind of money I'd want to ensure the load picks and delivers on time for your clients.

I'd hate to pick a carrier for $3800 and have them miss a pickup or delivery appointment, makes it real tough to earn future business when you screw up a first load for a client by trying to put an extra couple hundred in your pocket.

Just pay a good carrier proper rates for said lane and everyone is happy.
