Tempo Transport - SCAC: TPON

Anyone have any info on these guys as a carrier? Offering Reefer service to NB & NS.

Thanks

We have used their flatbed service many times over the last 10 years with no problems.

they used to do a good job as a flat bed carrier. Have not used them for years. Not for any bad reason.

I have used them for flatbed freight to the east coast. No problems. Have been around for years.

we have used them extensively over the past number of years as related to vans and reefers never a problem..When unexpected situations come up they always deal in a professional manner..Talk to Kevin

We have had nothing but bad luck with them......Kevin was always personable, but when issues arose (truck breakdowns etc) we had to find out from our customer that they hadn't showed, as they couldn't bother to call us. I understand these things happen, but I expect the carrier to reach out to advise that there is an issue.

Gave these clowns 8 skids Mississauga >>> Moncton NB.

They then brokered it to another Maritime carrier (something I could've done myself if he no longer had availability).

Called him to check on delivery and to see if there were any issues (short, damages, wait time etc). "Nope, all good!" He says. "Driver was in there at 7:00 AM and left delivered clean a few minutes later."

Our shipper calls two days later. Wondering where the Moncton shipment is. "Delivered" says our CSR "I'll track down a POD for you."

Another check to Tempo. He tells us the drivers send all their POD's to a local truck stop he'll have to stop by and pick it up.

After a few calls asking for the POD and cornering Tempo they finally admitted that they had given the shipment to another carrier and had never touched it with their own equipment.

This wasn't forwarded... or a beyond point. They had no intention of moving this on their own equipment right from the time they were sent the order.

Agreed that 95% of the time in a situation such as this everything works out fine (and the broker is never the wiser (unless they examine the POD)). But Carriers like this are just as much to blame for low rates. We pay a carrier a fair rate for a job. They then slice 15% off of that rate and forward it to another carrier.

Tempo... Just graduated to my DNU list.

Newsflash

Most Maritime Carriers seem to operate this way and deem it acceptable.
We have never had a problem with Tempo on US to Canada freight
