owes $1100 for a Jan 08 shipment

We got the load from them and have their confirmation. their a/p is now claiming that they're not responsible for the payment and we were supposed to collect from receiver (!!?? on a standard brokered load!? with a Bill to: System 55 Transport confirmation!?)
of course, everyone actually "responsible" for the arrangements on this shipment is on vacation.. (right)
