Sounds a tad extreme, although we used to do $3500 routinely to Long Island City, 30k no tarp. But even at that the tolls, taxes, traffic and general nastinest didn't make it my most popular lane.

This morning I had a request to quote a flatbed for Holt, MI to Long Island City, NY. I swallowed hard and said $4500.00US, and braced myself for some serious verbal abuse. Instead he booked it with me. My immediate thought: shit.. I quoted too low. But I got it moved.. what a crazy market.
