Has anyone dealt with Stalwart out of Montreal. We have an outstading invoice from December and keep getting the run around about payment.

Stalwart does not pay... $6600 over 8 months ago....these guys should not be dealt with.. Jeff... Gates...and Dave.... all crooks......... it really isnt fair at all. Gave them great service and got screwed... run your truck before you give it to Stalwart or you will be running for free...........

I beleive they have been posted previously in regards to this type of issue. If I'm not mistaken they also run under another name as well.

This is old rtd transport. Owners closed one crappy non-paying company and opened this one because too many people were knocking on their doors for payment.

Good luck for those of you that have open invoices...for those that don't, stay away !!!!

??

Still have money owing, anyone hear from Stalwart from PQ at all or where we might be able to find them? I think the owners name was Gates there when we were getting the run around a while back...

These guys do this over and over again. They can't make a living from being honest so they just go out of business. Honesty runs in the family! Did you think we were kidding when we said Quebec Numbered companies are BAD NEWS

Gates was not the owner. The owners were the guys from RTD Transport. When things started heading south, they opened Stalwart to broker their loads through. Then RTD closed, screwing everyone and their mother, and
I guess they made enough $ on that they figured they should close down Stalward and keep that $ too. A real bunch of winners...deceiving, they were a pretty good carrier back in the day......

Well at least we get the satisfaction of knowing that we were able to contribute to thier retirement fund, I hope they surface as someone else in the near future

First Reported April 2009

This site only works well if we all do a search first. The warnings re Stalwart being the old RTD were on Inside Transport over a year ago.

I realize the posts are from over a year ago Scam Chaser and there is a thread on RTD, our money owing is from over a year ago, just figured it was worth while to post on here to see if there was any new info at all or where they were now to know who to watch out for, did not realize there was an expiry for posts as this post already existed on the site from a long time ago as well and this thread is labelled Stalwart... Please understand our frustration as this is almost $7000 we were burned for in 2008 before we knew of this site.....

Just because a Broker has a Surety Bond, does not mean that the Bond is intact. One has to be diligent in their knowledge and procedure of monitoring this. I am sure the majority of Companies receive the Bond information from the Broker and then just file it and not monitor it properly.

Companies should be monitoring the Bondholder and reviewing:

> is the Bond intact?
> how much money is left in the Bond?
> how many applications have been made towards payment from this Bond?
> how long have you held the Bond for this Company (Broker)
> procedure for claiming against the Bond
> Bondholder Company - what is your percentage of business of handling Surety Bonds?

Remember....the bond was established in the past as a last resort for payment of claims and it is just recently that the Bond is being used for payment of invoices. The amount of $10,000.00 can be whittled away very quickly for payment of freight invoices.

yes but atleast you can attack it and then the Bond company will have recourse against the broker, plus some of us brokers have bigger bonds...
