Just trying to see if anyone else recently has had issues with their Shaw Tracking equipment in trucks?

In particular some of our newer units just stop working, and require a "reset" to start working again (once or twice a week this is happening in some of our units).

Also, with some of our MCP 200 models the cables are fraying/breaking where they connect to the piece of hardware in the truck itself.

Is anyone else experiencing these types of issues in the past few months? Any feedback would be appreciated; I can also provide more details if that helps.

Thanks!
Chris

Chris - we've run into issues with our MCP50s - volume not working, resets required, and .net framework initialization errors.

We've had the same issues. No sounds, we've had to send them out for repair. As far as resets, etc. Found this to be issues with either the version of operating system or the firmware version. Ask Shaw for updates and have your shop guys update each one via a USB stick. This resolved most of our issues, even though Shaw said it shouldn't have mattered what version.

What kind of pricing have you seen for the no sound repairs?

they quoted me 450 to repair the volume, ended up repairing it for 42.50 in parts plus labour for just under 100

anyone have recent Shaw issues -specifically MCP50's with screens going blank but still having functioning sound and positioning.

I've had the opposite, most of the issues we have had are solved by doing a OS update and firmware updates. For some reason, not all our units are getting the updates over the air as shaw says we should. If the unit begins an update then for some reason it get interrupted either by no signal or unit turning off, we have found that the unit will not function correctly until we update it manually using the usb stick.

We have been on ELD's for almost 2 years, all complained when they went on them and now all complain when they are not available to them (rentals etc)

I agree with @bellcitytransport. An update with the USB is quick (about half hour) and easy. Call Shaw to get the download locations.
We had similar issues and all were repaired with the update.

The units are all current to last firmware and OS updates released. Appears to be hardware failure.
