Seat-switching trucker faces multiple charges in Ontario

Guilty of doing this myself at 17 or so. My buddies parents owned Oakrun farm bakery. Son and i would work on line all day load a 24ft gas job IH and head for Steinburg's ( yes I am that old) run down and unload to come straight back. One sleeping and one driving we would switch on the fly all the time. Wow over 40 years ago now.

Steinburgs! In the mid 70’s I was a driver/loader working on the dock at the Miracle Food Mart warehouse in Rexdale. Much to my surprise one day, I was presented with my 5 year employment pin by none other than Sam Steinburg himself. Wonder what I did with that momento?

Worked all the docks when I was Wilson trucklines after the buyout by A&P Westmall Vickers rd even at the bakery a couple times.

I used to go (back in the 80's) to the Steinbergs on Beaconsfield Blvd and St. Charles in the West Island when I was 12 and buy cartons of smokes for my Mom. They didn't ask me for a note, because how else would a 12 year old have $20 bills. LOL!
That place was cool because your groceries would go down a metal conveyor system to the car loading area where you would have an employee load your groceries into your car or truck. Guess what, they didn't need a 20% tip!! Different conversation for a different day...
Funny, I could take my bike, the bus or metro anywhere I wanted at 12, amazing how the world has changed.

Happy Friday,
Mike
