Hello everyone.

Not sure if I am posting this in the right section, however just looking for some info regarding sales persons.

I'm thinking of hiring someone full time for sales.

We are a logistics company in Montreal that have been around since 95 .

Just wondering if anyone can help me on competitive wages and commissions?

Its been awhile , so I'm trying to see what the industry is paying.

thanks

Thanks for your response.

I guess I should have added some details.

In your experience which do you feel is more beneficial to your company.

At the end of the day, I don't need him/her for office work. I can handle the operations part.

I'd rather have someone at a desk so I can control how they work and who they work on, AKA calling Labatt or Michelin is pointless lol

but outside sales guys are fun because you don't need to deal with them on a day to day, no complaining, etc

I hear ya.

With today's comp , i want someone out there who can bring in some new customers.

Barnes Logistics.

Yes they are hard to find. That is why i was hoping to find some info on competitive salaries.

I'm looking for someone who doesn't want to jump around every year or so

you gotta think that if he already has a job and you lure him away then he will be lured away by someone else once he works for you.

plus most brokers have a non compete, so he can't bring his clients to you.

so the salary all depends on what he can actually produce for you.

I suggest light base + good commissions to make them work for it.

I would like to find someone myself.

Seeing we are in our slow period now, I'm thinking it's a good time to start looking.

let me know if you find a sales person on the south shore that doesn't want to travel to Montreal every day ;)
