Has anyone dealt with them? One of our new dispatchers gave 3 LTL shipments to Steve. He lied that they delivered one because we found out that the receiver was on strike and we never gave them any appointment. Then they held all 3 shipments hostage and demanded payment before delivery. Said freight will not move until the money is reflected in their accounts. We paid. Then they started saying they haven't received the final payment. We had to e-transfer. Then they suddenly received the EFT and the e-transfer. Also no updates. Cursing at dispatch and tracing. Has been a complete nightmare. Held our freight for 20 days saying it was delivered. After we confronted them they said " I said that because my driver was onsite".

Has anyone else used Saab's Trucking?
They quoted me on an LTL from the GTA to Edmonton.
Just wondering if it was the same experience all around.
Thanks in advance

We got a qoute from them for an LTL to BC, price was very low however we chose not to go with them due to the responses on this thread, went with a trusted partner for a fair price.

Just booked one of their trucks on a load AB > ON.

They said they'd load it today. My shipper calls me saying another carrier (JDL Transport) is trying to load the shipment. I call dispatch and they say it's their "partner" carrier.

On my DNU.

Partner, sister, father inlaw they will call it whatever they can other than double brokered which is what it is.

They've done 2 loads for us last year, and just picked up a 3rd. Their trailer says Saab's Trucking, I had the shipper send me a pic...all that to say, so far so good...

We have been using them 3 to 4 times per month for LTL to and from Western Canada. Service has been good for us.

We have used them twice and service was good. However, we will not be using them in the future as they only have basic cargo insurance coverage of $2 per pound. Their COI has cargo insurance for reefer breakdown but not no other coverage for general cargo.

In 2022, your company (YK Freightways, also operating as Candid Freight Haulers) booked three LTL shipments with us. After the freight was already in transit, we learned from several other carriers that YK Freightways had multiple unpaid balances—some outstanding for many months and, in some cases, exceeding $50,000—which we were unaware of at the time.

Given this discovery and the stage of transport, we chose to proceed in good faith and delivered two of the three loads while requesting that the outstanding balance be cleared before releasing the third. During this time, we received several falsified EFT/PDF payment confirmations, which caused unavoidable delays. Once legitimate payment was confirmed, the remaining shipment was delivered promptly.

We regret that this situation even happened which only came to light after the shipments were already underway. Had we known about these issues earlier, we would not have accepted the loads in the first place.

This incident took place over three years ago. Since then, Saab’s Trucking Ltd has implemented stricter due-diligence procedures—including verifying broker and forwarder payment histories, obtaining references, reviewing carrier aging reports, and requiring cleared funds before final deliveries.

We remain committed to maintaining fair, transparent, and dependable relationships with all our partners and hope this explanation provides clarity to anyone reviewing this thread.

Can you please email me Steven@SaabsTrucking.ca I think there has been some miscommunication, I would love the opportunity to sort this out and continue business.
