Rural / North Quebec carriers

Hi All,
Can anyone recommend a carrier who can handle GTA to northern rural Quebec locations via LTL road? We also have one shipment going to Whapmagoostui, QC, J0M 1G0 that needs to go air. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
 
Hi All,
All of the carriers suggested do not do tailgate deliveries to the Cree Nations locations in North Western Quebec. We have reached out to dozens of carriers with no avail. All of this freight will fit in a 5 tonne, so we are considering doing the pick up in Oakville, ON and doing a milk run to these locations in northern Quebec which is which is about a 3700 km trip with 9 stops, one way. Can anyone recommend a carrier who may have interest in this?
 
Just trying to think outside the box for you Transaction, but have you reached out to any of the receivers in these areas to see if they know anyone that could help? Perhaps they have had other similar deliveries in the past.

Good idea but the receivers are the police stations so they don't generally receive LTL type freight regularly.
 
I hate to say it, but you might be forced into hiring people on site to unload the shipments manually. There are usually a few ways to "skin a cat" but some of them can cost more money. Does your customer/shipper have any suggestions?
 
I called Morneau Transport this morning. They finally called me back and said they have an interline partner who can handle this, he is the only guy that does TG's in this area. They are getting me rates.....glad to get this one done. Thanks for everyone's help.
 
Martin Roy Transport is based in Rouyn-Noranda - does a great job for us
Certainly can handle the pick up in the GTA and would likely know carriers with tailgates for any deliveries he could not handle

I did try them and they said they couldn't do the tailgate to all the locations. I even lost Morneau Transport who told me they could. Had to go to Day and Ross who assured me they can do it with some big ticket pricing attached. Also worried they will transfer it 100 times prior to delivery. Gave my clients that option plus the dedicated run option. In their hands now
