Can anyone provide recent experience on how they pay when extended credit?

Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks.

they are a group of ex traffic tech employees i believe. left and took the accounts with them

No one at Royal Blue has EVER worked for Traffic Tech- maybe you should check references and do a credit check if you'd like to take freight from them. If they are on a do not use list, it's probably left over from when Jen and Kim we're running Royal Blue, and got the owner in debt for over $300,000 all of which was paid off. Perhaps making comments, and suggesting half-truths is easier than actually having to do any leg-work.

Don't need to be nasty, as you can see only one person posted a reply.
On our DNU list since Sept 07 as averaged 117 days to pay.
We don't use this as our only means of doing a credit check either, it's one out of many.

Also looking for info on Royal Blue Logistical.

Invoice is nearing 80 days. Originally told payment was going out on January 25! Speaking to the owner does no good as he just says we will have to wait. Not sure till when.

When is it time to act?

I don't know how others here think, but the lack of a commitment to pay outstanding invoices by a particular date, or an "I don't know", would indicate to me a lack of managerial competence and immediately illicit a call to the shipper or consignee to collect.

I also agree with both of you. I don't normally let these get over the 60 day mark and if I do, it's a good chance I'll be calling the customer. I haven't done that yet because we also do business with TDS Trucking which is owned by the same people. TDS does some loads for us. Well, I guess they used to now... I have spoken to the owner of my company and he has given me the reigns, I have been told to Cut the Cord.

You haven't heard the best part yet. I just got a call back from Antonella, their A/P person, she says the original cheque has been cancelled, and they now have to pay us in two installments, one this friday and one the next. Best part is, the bill is for $1100 !!... How about that. Be careful with this company people...

I will be making one last call to Frank Lerra, owner of both companies to give him his last chance. After that I will be speaking to anyone who has anything to do with this load, shipper, receiver, customer, customs broker...

haahhaha...

Thanks for the laugh, I needed that!

Left owner Frank a nice message on his Cell phone, not expecting to hear back too soon.

Well, Frank finally called me back. Nothing new to say though.

Apparently he is still in such financial trouble that he cannot actually afford to pay us in full this week (which would be 80 days) at all. He still is trying to get us to accept half of what we are owed. He actually told me that he does not like to send out cheques when he knows they will bounce!!... We are talking about $1100 here people!

Oh well, I guess I will be late paying TDS for the loads they did for us.

Wow... This situation really concerns me.

As primarily a broker... I feed TDS a bit of freight. If they're operating on cash flow that's this tight... hmmmm.... it concerns me.

They've always been good to me... but business is business

I am in the same position as Nawk. I give TDS a fair bit of LTL. Knowing they are not paying their bills changes things.

Hey NoProblemBuddy,

Yes, they are very interconnected it would appear. The number I have for "Royal Blue Logistical" is 888-566-6686 and when you call that number the automated system says "thank you for calling TDS Trucking". Then, when you hit 5 for Accounts Payable a woman usually answers the phone and says "TDS Trucking". Also, they have the same address which is - 7311 KIMBELL STREET, MISSISSAUGA, ON, L4T 3M6.

I believe there may be a shell game going on here. Brokers book their freight with a trucking company "TDS" and then that is probably passed on to Royal Blue for double brokering... Just guessing here, I have no evidence of that.

Nawk,

Yes, I agree, I have given TDS plenty of LTL over many years and this is the first time I have taken freight from them. Well, not them, but from Royal Blue, which is basically the same company. Also, they are NOT even operating on Cash Flow. They use Permicom/Comdata as a factoring company, which is usually the beginning of the end for most companies. They don't have any cash, that's why they sell their Accounts Receivable to companies like Permicom/Comdata/Riveria Finance/etc... I for one will not do business with either company ever again.

Diet Coke,

Thanks for chiming in. Best to watch them like a hawk.

The latest is that I have contacted their customer who says they only ever used them this one time. Of course the customer paid them in full long ago. I will not bother that customer any further.

Let's maybe try to stick to business here guys... and making the industry stronger.

I don't see really what ones weight, looks, or ethnicity has to do with anything this site is trying to accomplish.

Red, what proof do you have of the double and triple brokering? Do you something useful to add?
