It wasn't so much the complete service failure that bothered me, yes I heard about the bad dispatchers, it was how the owner handled it. No communication, not trying to attempt a solution to the problem, no visible understanding of the term customer service. We have all had shipments go sideways, it is how the problem gets handled that separates good carriers (or brokers) from bad ones. I'm glad that you have a good working relationship with them and hope that it continues, but for me, I'll take my business elsewhere.
