if they can get it why not? Can't get big rates if you don't ask for them. Truckers rule right now and will for rest of this year at least. Is Apple taking advantage? Amazon? Microsoft? Open market, live by the sword die by it but they wont be dying anytime soon.

Everyone has to realize rates have and will keep going up, just a fact of life. We give our drivers a 20% raise and we are paying 61K for dry van trailers if you can get them prices have to go up. We have 3 loads for every truck prices have to go up. You will see some of the crazier rates come back down in a year or two but I'm willing to bet that rates will still be up 40 to 50% from even just last year. You are doing no favours to your Customers by not be telling them to expect big increases there are no other options. We gave all of our customers a substantial raise and told them that we could be back in as little as 3 months with another, they shopped the business and all stayed on because everyone else was higher.

Yup giving drivers a riase - otherwise they are all saying they will be looking for oppurtunites - not wanting to leave but this is their time to avail a better oppurtunity...

Dry Vans are scarce and the ones that are out there are WAY over priced, I'll rent for the time being until they come back down to reality. I hope this isn't the new reality. We just ended up buying a few more flats for the fleet, and those prices were pretty steep too.

anyone want to pay $6400 for a team from Chicago to GTA?
Aurizon just had that posted. Was $6000 min then reposted $6400 min.

no - Laxman started his own. did have a breakdown (AKA normal Laxman), but did do the load on a sameday basis for us and followed up all day. and did it for a decent rate.
