Anyone have a truck and driver that is cool not coming home for almost 2 months?
Here's the bare bones:
You have a 20' can chassis (or an account with Train Trailers/Trailer Wizards) or can acquire a 20' chassis.
You have a driver and truck that is avaible Monday to receive posession of an empty sea can, head to Hamilton to get loaded with some product and depart to the USA with your chassis and my cusotmers container and goods.
Driver will make stops in UT (if you have a team to get to UT that would be ideal), CA, OR, AZ for 2-3 days at each destination. Driver can leave the chassis/contaier at the drop locations and have free/down time when dropped. I've got a pin lock if you want to use it.
Returns to Hamilton ON before Christmas.

How are we going to quote this out you ask? I'm thinking a daily rate for truck/driver (insert your company margin here) and a per mile fuel charge while transporting the chassis. Per diem for off duty days. Unless you have a better idea, please bring it.

Nice of the customer to drop this one on us yesterday, some time to plan would have been nice.

Correct, I'm sure you can imagine my phone is ringing off the hook on this one.
I've got a blank cheque which is always nice, I will not be tendering this business to anyone I don't already know. Oh, we're going to be asking the customer and will be compensating the transporting carrier WEEKLY to ensure that all parties are comfortable with the arrangement.
