Does anyone know this truck slogan: "Always moving to take you one step ahead”? I am trying to track down a carrier, likely from Toronto. Thanks.

Thank you, Jim. I called him and the very polite gentleman confirmed it is his slogan, but he's not on the load I am trying to track down. He said he sold some trailers and gave me the name of one of the buyers but they're not on the load either. Still searching ...
shoot out info on the load. You may have find the guy if he sees the info. IE Cinci to Toronto does not have to be actual shipper etc.

Hey folks,

I am just writing her to add another thread with the name STS - Southern Transportation. Yes, we had another vetting failure (quick-working dispatch thought it was another STS), and we gave a load to Frank/Mark. It went EXACTLY as per the MO of the other scams in the other threads, We said we wouldn't QP and he said "send it over". Next day, we're COD because we didn't pass his credit check. Thankfully, I convinced him we would pay immediately upon arrival at the consignee, before even unloading, after he insisted he wouldn't deliver without payment (who knows what story he's telling the carrier to keep them away from the consignee). So we got the drivers name & number to find out who was the real carrier. He was paying them $3900.00 on a load we were paying $2800.00 to STS LOL. Even after he was exposed, he's still threating to bring our load to Thunder Bay and auction it and told me he would refer our client to a real broker Traffic Tech, not a bottom-feeder, like us. (Seems he likes that adjective). He said he would tell them to call Brian LOL. I laugh, but its not funny. I wish there was some law that allowed the authorities to just stop these guys and seize their accounts. That would put a stop to it. Anyway, I had to block his email from our company so he would stop harassing me and my staff.

You are all smart enough to come to this platform, I pity those that do not ...

@Neil Smith
Check this out

Thanks Markhamboy, Oh yeah, I read all about them yesterday, a day after pickup. I NEVER would have ok'd them. I don't write alot here, but I check it often. I will try to contribute more since we're getting so many of these attempts. I am advising dispatch to call known carriers off the link instead of taking calls, but that process is so much longer. This was 2 unchecked carriers (1 checked poorly, Viva Unique, and the other not checked at all, STS, because he was mistaking for another company), in the last month. We know we have to do better.

If it were me, I'd let him auction the load. That has all sorts of criminal activity attached to it ... especially if you have a paper trail that proves he accepted your creditworthiness.
Call the relevant authorities and report a stolen load. Make sure you get a case number. Even if they don't do anything, they have to make a report, and every report is numbered.
Call your insurance company and tell them you have a load that's been stolen, and give them the police report number.
Let the wheels of justice slowly grind.
Oh, and fire your dispatcher.

Sounds easy, Michael, but that takes on a whole new set of problems. We had some similar issues, many years ago, when this whole racket started (I am old, yeah) and the police want ZERO involvement. They call it a civil dispute. There is no usable law on the matter ... this dispatcher is great. Hes worth the money, even had we lost money on the load. We have failsafes, like me personally authorising all quick pays, so our second level of security worked this time, thankfully.

I think there was a discussion somewhere on here where we decided the only guy on here older than me was @loaders ... LOL
I'd gladly give up second place if you want it ... LOL
You're correct though police won't do anything, even though it's not a civil matter. It's criminal activity.
Unfortunately, most police are ostriches ... the bury their head in the sand when they don't understand something, or the effort will require more than 15 minutes of work ... and hope the hell the problem goes away on its own.
(The one caveat to that is if there is any opportunity whatsoever to draw their sidearm and shoot someone, they're all in !!! If you can't tell, I'm not a big fan of the commitment to law enforcement, or lack thereof, these days.)

I must have been having my nap and missed this latest talk about my age! Another month and three days to go and the clock clicks over to 72. Someone asked me what was the first truck I ever drove. I told them to watch some vintage Roy Rogers movies and look for the old R model gas engine, single axle, IHC that the cattle rustlers were using. Roy had no trouble catching up to them while he was on horseback! My wife just reminded me that the Jays are playing an afternoon tilt today, got to go!
