Polaris growing again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not really interested in them as a carrier.

My question was concerning their Load Brokerage Division.

Does anyone on the forum take freight from them?
Are they good to deal with?

Thanks

Lou

I use Polaris every week and I'm happy with them. It's LTL, and sometimes things go sideways.. heck.. even truckload can get messy at times. but everything is relative. You think Polaris is troublesome?.. try some of their US based competitors sometime..

You mean like ODFL?
Short story (I'll try). Gave them a load from SC - ON (LTL). They delivered half of it, I arranged pickup of the other half from their dock in OH I think it was. I received a total of 3 invoices valued at approximately triple what we were quoted (and my confirmation read). Commodity, weights and dims are all accurate. All I asked was someone, anyone call me so we can sort it out. No one from ODFL has ever been bothered to look into it. I don't know how they manage their other clients, but the experience has landed them on the DNU even though I feel we have potential for some volumes together I can't spend countless hours on the admin side for every order...

Keep well,
Mike

Louie, I have done work with their brokerage division and have found them fair and payment in a timely fashion based on 2 FTL.

Thank you Rob.
I'm not asking for much.
I just want accurate information - maybe be treated right - and then paid for my services within the agreed terms.

Mike JR. - Thanks for the note about getting the original BOL on their website
I have no doubt that Polaris is a well run company, you don't grow, acquire other companies and succeed by accident in this business and I simply wanted to advise of my experiences so that they can make their customer experience potentially even better going forward (Well run companies can do this, and I am sure they pay attention to this board just as much as any other great carrier/broker/vendor etc. on here), Just sayin' :)
Happy New Year everyone!

You're right, feedback from customers is how many carriers/businesses improve.
Try and be as specific as you can though, I find more often than not people come to me with general statements for example 'Mike, I've got repeat issues with carrier ABC', so I ask them to track the issues and get back to me when there is a proven pattern. Turns out most people just remember the most recent issue not the other 99.9% of jobs well done.

Happy New Year to you (and all, except Grant and Tony),
Mike

Recently moved 5 shipments to different locations . 14'L skid x 42"W x 72"H @ 900lbs each dimensions received from shipper for each order. Rated as 4 skid spots . Received notice from Polaris that they had measured skids and determined the skids were 80" H so they rated as 8 spots due to height . About a 50% premium . I discussed with them and was told the extra 8" deprived them of the ability to stack .

Over all we are pleased with their service. Like any large carrier, they do lose/misplace the odd shipment, but are accountable and do what it takes to make it right.

Only issue I have is they want you to get your own quotes, enter your own orders, do your own tracking. Next up, we will have to drive the truck :)

Thanks for all the un-related insight.

But as mentioned... I was interested in knowing about the freight brokerage not the carrier.

Rob was the only one that actually took the time to read my question. Hight five to Rob.

Should have starded a new thread I guess.

My own response was more in keep with the OP's orginal post... i.e. Polaris Growing Again .. to afirm they're a good carrier amid their growth.. Sometimes you've just got to go with the flow.. can't always bend a post to fit your needs.

We have hauled a couple hundred LTL shipments for the brokerage division of Polaris to many points across the NW US. Never an issue, rates are fair, always pay on time. Paulina and Alexandra are great to work with.
