Please beware of this company.

Although it has the ring of a sure fire way to recoup your money, “doing the Bill of Lading Act” is more complicated than waving a piece of paper in front of the delinquent party. If the party that owes you money is a broker, you might be better served by filing a claim for unpaid services in Small Claims Court. If that isn’t your preferred course of action, then going after the owner of the goods and/or company responsible for the freight payment might be in order. This is where the B/L Act comes into play. In order to have even a remote chance at being successful, you must have all of the paperwork in order, with you being shown as the actual carrier. As the B/L is the legal contract of carriage, your case and it’s supporting documents must be able to withstand some serious questioning from the party/parties potentially on the hook to pay. In either case, if the amount owing warrants, you would be best served by spending a few dollars first, and speak to an experienced transportation paralegal, such as Scam Chaser on this site.

Loaders, you are right.

I am a Licensed Paralegal and take everyone on the BOL into court. Someone is going to pay you for the work you have done.

I find that is a very effective way, but I send court papers first to the shipper and consignee and ask them can we settle before going into court. Give them 2 days to respond then file papers.

Normally this works too.
