Hi all. New to this forum. After 15 years experience in the trucking industry, driving mostly western Canada, I've decided to give over dimensional work a try as a company driver. Anyone have any advice or experiences about the industry to share that could help me understand what I'm getting myself into? I have just signed on with a small company here in Alberta for a pretty decent hourly wage and the group of guys(pilot car drivers and the other truck drivers) seem like a really good group. Thanks.

Make sure you permits are right! Make sure the date(s) is/are correct, make sure the vehicle info is correct, make sure the load info is right etc etc etc. When your permits aren't right the fines can be horrific!

oversize?

be sure to check the company's FMCSA scores online to get a better idea of how they operate. Many heavy-haulers are not entirley honest with drivers when giving them an overview on thier policies.
