OTA says extortion, theft and violence gripping Ontario trucking industry

“Bring the 3rd world in, become the 3rd world.”

That quote keeps popping into my head lately, and honestly it’s hard to ignore. With all the extortions, targeted shootings, and gangs shaking down small business owners, it just feels unreal. This doesn’t feel like the Canada it used to be. Stuff that once felt unthinkable here is starting to feel normal, and that’s a problem. I’m not against immigration at all. Immigration built this country. The immigrants I work with, including South Asians who’ve been here for decades, are some of the hardest-working people I know. Even they’re saying something has changed, that this new wave feels different and more entitled, with less interest in contributing and more issues following behind.

The issue isn’t race or where people come from. It’s a lack of control. When immigration numbers explode without proper screening, housing, integration, or enforcement, things fall apart fast. Organized crime fills the gaps, extortion spreads, and everyday people end up paying for it. Pointing this out shouldn’t automatically get shut down or labeled as hateful. It’s just reality. If Canada wants to stay safe and livable, immigration needs to be managed properly and crime, especially extortion, needs to be taken seriously. Ignoring it is only making things worse.

Just some young Canadians trying to supplement their incomes. Tough being an international student nowadays.

I have noticed that many people are overstaying their visas and losing their legal status while seeking quick cash. I've seen several CCTV videos featuring these individuals, and they all seem to be under 30 years old. This is a significant issue, yet it seems like our elected officials have no viable solution. If this were happening in the U.S., the FBI and other agencies would likely take charge of the situation quickly.
