OMG.....or is it just my Carrier?

Yes Bailey I may be. Finnertyequip....giving it a very long hard thought....I just hate switching companies. Would have never left Trent Logistics but his new dispatcher ~from Holt~ talked him into doorslamming and out of deck work.

Hi Jeepnut2010, I do realize that changing companys can be time consuming, but if you have a clean record and want miles cross border work then send me your information or email address and I will give you more information on our company.
Thank you

And just because people are busy, don't assume that they're making $$$$ Why bust your butt running mega miles at one place to gross the same amount you can at another place running less miles in the same time period. The issues with many (not all) owner ops is that they don't look at the big picture, most want the loads that run the long miles and sounds good over the phone (ie. big dollars) When they'd be further ahead to run the short trips. But try telling them this and they think you're just trying to screw them or punish them. We are all here to make money, if the drivers don't make money and stay, then we aren't making money. I've even had owner/ops come straight out and say that they don't care how many miles they have to run but they have to gross $6 G's a week and only want long runs. If that's the way guys want to run then should just go drop their keys off at the bank and tell them to come get their trucks.

Almost every carrier I speak with these days is operating at capacity with every truck in the fleet moving.

That said... I don't think that many fleets have seen much of an increase in size over the past few years (many have decreased to become more lean).

It's busy... that's for certain.

So true Don its all about the net you take home at the end of month

Good point Don, one week your busy as hell, the next week slow, and the busy week you didnt make money because you now had to suppliment the week that was slow...overhead costs stay the same no matter what.

I really don't know what we are doing right (lol) but our trucks are booked 10 days minimally in advance. The only time we have equipment available is if a load isn't ready when we get there.

All the good practices and policies that we have put in place a number of years ago are finally paying off.

Trucking is fun again...

we are running at full capacity even though a few customers are on shut down. Short weeks always help!
