NextGen Trucking urges fleets to engage younger talent as workforce pipeline shrinks

Young people aren't getting into trucking because the lifestyle is outdated. They don't want to live on the road, eat truck-stop roller dogs, and ruin their personal lives for low pay. The industry has to change if it wants to survive. This generation isn't blindly loyal; if the conditions are bad, they'll just hop to a new job. Most people in this industry usually have a 5-year tenure max from what I've seen; many move over to local jobs, Uber, or other gig jobs.
