Does anyone have any experience with a carrier :

New Century Transportation in Mississauga?

Would appreciate any feedback.

Used them a lot in the past - really good, no problem to get updates, tracing, etc.. - not the cheapest but you pay for good service!

Thanks for your input.

Having an issue and wanted to know what type of people I was dealing with.

Don't seem to be reacting as their reputation would suppose they should.

have moved a couple with them and all were ok until the last. Last shipment was longer skids that were 8.5 long x 4.5 wide they sent pictures said they could not load side by side. So shipment took more room and we paid more as a result. The truck arrived at our customer and the skids were loaded side by side ( damaged ) and it fit into the space we originally thought. Dispatcher did reduce rate to original pricing but I suspect they were trying to get away with this and the additional revenue. Just food for thought, would likely use again but on a short leash.

Has anyone heard any rumours about these guys? I'm hearing they went out of business but I will gladly remove this post if it is not true.

Good morning,

back from 2 weeks and catching up here. We had a load in transit and seems on September 17th they advised they were closing and asked us to pick up our customers freight from their dock. Never good to hear of a Canadian carrier closing (especially a decent one).

Keep well,
Mike

Closed last week I am hearing. We have one outstanding invoice with them so we will see if the shipper will pay.

We have freight on them from last week as well (2 pallets). It's supposed to be delivered in Montreal today...

Thank you Mike - I saw that post on the other thread. I spoke to Julia earlier today. Unfortunately she was not able to assist with the recovery of the freight.
If I'm able to get any information on possible whereabouts of the freight I will share on this forum.

Regards,

Todd

I heard that New Century might have been using a factoring company. Does anyone know the name? I have 3 outstanding invoices that are old.

Got a tidbit of information. New Century used a factoring company called Economy Finance in Thornhill. It s possible they might have funds in trust for carriers if you are owed money. Ill be calling them first thing Tuesday morning.

I tracked down the owners name at E-Conomy Finance. Denis Gourski. Has anyone had dealings with this factoring company? They may have funds that should be held in trust for actual carriers, if there are carriers out there that are still owed for shipments.

I am starting to wonder what the relationship is between E-conomy and New Century.
I reached this man (Denis) a few moments ago and he said the owner OF NEW CENTURY had another business in California and he is still in contact with him. They are both from the same country.

They are both from the same country.
That's an interesting statement. Which country is that? Canada? :)
Far as I know they're from different parts of former USSR if that's what you mean so technically not from the same country. Top of that, I would be surprised they have any monies in trust as New Century stuck it to everyone, including their factor, which will be the first beneficiary on any recovered funds of course.
