I had major problems collecting from this company after years of slow payment... They have always been slow, but earlier this year it got much worse...

I believe there is more than 1 Ms Transportation. The owner also owns Rhino transport in Mississauga. We have had no issues with these guys. Maybe you are referring to a different MS?

One time when I requested to speak with the owner, I was transferred to Martin and told he was the owner's son.
I think this is the same company QueenD was asking about...
I didn't know there was another MS Transportation... Where are they located so we can differentiate between them?

I have called this fellow for a few days on some recent invoices. I am told he has been off sick.
That, it appears, is his story and he's sticking to it.

I have to say, that is no excuse, whether it is BS or not...
I too have been sick before, but our company didn't stop sending out payments because of it... This is a business, you need to have people and processes in place for when illness/injury happens.
By the way... when I was trying to collect from these guys back in April I spoke to a guy named Martin, who said he was the son of the owner. He gave me two excuses for his late payment and lack of communication: 1) He was recently screwed by his customer who went bankrupt and 2) His son was sick...
You can imagine my response...
I gave an order to a Comapny Called Rhino Trans ( Mississauga) for a skid to Move from Montreal to Saskatoon,
Order was taken by a dispatcher called Martin Dennis, this needed to deliver before 12/01. when this morning skid was not at receiver ( Booth for Trade show) .
I found out that the skid was sitting at Day And Ross In Regina. Rhino Trans confirmed that the skid was dropped by Their own truck in Regina.... wrong never moved with there trucks but double and triple brokered ..
the skid was sold to Freight.com by a company called MS Transport ( Martin Dennis) .. who moved it with Day And ross..

Rhino actually did a 3 dropper to the west coast for us and as far as I can tell it was on their truck.

Did they actually file for bankruptcy , or was that a rumour? Is Rhino still in business? There is rumour of a third name.

Not file for bankruptcy as per say i think it is called in the collection language, if I remember what i saw, is called: Cession Volontaire. Meaning they voluntarily called it quit. I dont know much else. i got the confirmation on a groupecho bankruptcy and collection report.
