Does anyone have any information on Millwood Logistics?

They used to be in Barrie, did 1 stupid load for them that we had to dock, hold and redeliver a few weeks later. One of those "just bill me whatever you need" loads. I guess the rate didnt matter cause they had no intention of paying it.
Finally wrote it off. Now it looks like they are operating from a house in Orillia.

I didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling on this one when I saw the Bill of Lading come in. Millwood weren't named as the carrier on this load (nor were we) so I'm presuming this is a double brokered load.

I working in Accounting so don't see the company information before I have to invoice it.

You confirmed my suspicions on this Company. I haven't mailled out the bill back to them yet so I hope we can leverage this one for payment.

I too looked up the address and saw the nice houses on the street and thought this company is either very good and make money or very bad and don't pay their bills.
 
I dont do alot but I do work with them they pay in around 50 days including mail. I used to work with a dispatcher there she has been with them for quite awhile just talked to her Friday she said all is well.
 
Have done 3-4 shipments a year for the past 4-5 years. Never had a problem getting paid. Have to haggle a bit to get the rate you need, though. But never had to call to get a cheque mailed.
 
Thank you for your other replies, I might give this guy the benefit of the doubt then this time, but it still looks to me like double brokered load which doesn't sit comfortably with me.

I'll let you know if I get paid.

Your information you are spreading on this Link is not Factual about Millwood. I would appreciate it you would call me directly so you can be better informed about my company and before you try to slag another company. I am the owner. I am sure you have my number. For the record we pay all carrier invoices 30 days from receipt of the invoice. We cut cheques EVERY Tuesday. If you have experienced delays in getting paid please speak to your billing Department about getting invoices out promptly. Our Physical Office is in Barrie. 110 Saunders Road.

I'll publically apologise if that works for you. I'm sorry that I jumped to conclusions but you will see that you are not named as the mover on the bill of lading and nor are we!

We've just been burned by another company and when I saw this it made me nervous so I posted for a reference on here and you can see the first respondent and his experience.

I find this forum very useful for finding objective information on those companies out there outside of calling the company directly. Using brokers is fairly new to us and we've been burned twice now.

I am sorry for any offence and I will follow up on here once paid. It seems that all the others you have worked with are happy, so I'm not above eating humble pie.

I truly have to apologise now. I found a second bill for this shipment with both our names on. On one bill, it looks like there was a part shipped part way to the destination then combined on the same load that you gave us for us to deliver. I'm so sorry that I jumped to the wrong conclusion on this and am satisfied that I am well and truly wrong on this.

I will still call to apologize!
 
Have spoken to Andy to apologize and will post to confirm payment to try to correct any insinuation that Millwood is less than professional.

We received the Cheque from Millwood Logistics today, the item is still current on our aged Invoice listing making this one of our best payers.

I am sorry again for being an idiot for going off half cocked without the full facts and some off the things I said were just stupid.

You showed yourself to be the professional here.

I hope our service provided by the freight moving showed our company to be good at what we do and that you don't judge us solely on the A/R with the poor judgement.
