This carrier is an absolute joke.
They take a local load that is suposed to pick up at 11:00 AM live load. He shows up at 2:30, then drops the trailer.
At 5:10 my client calls and asks what time the driver is coming back for it. I call Paul at MG Trans. and ask him to go get the trailer as it is not a secure yard. He says no way the load don't pay enough to send a driver from Milton to extract the load and bring it to his yard. I advised him the customer in Elmyra will wait for you to unload you. He says NO.
What he suggests next just blows my mind.
1) Just tell the client to leave, it will be safe and anyway that is what we have insurance for!I wonder what his insurance woud think of this practice.
2) Just tell your customer to go to a Flying J and get a pinlock for under $40.00 and put in on himself.!
I advise him that will not work and tell him he can send a driver up until 9:00 pm as the client will wait.
At 6:10 pm Paul still says he cannot recover the unit.
I proceed to call all my favorite carriers for a late night favor. No not that kind. lol
Finally at 8:10 pm I find a GENTLEMEN ( Bismallah Transport) to go an get the unit and move it to a secure yard 2 1/2 blocks away.
This cost me 3 1/2 hours of my time and $150.00 to get the trailer shunted at (9:00 pm).
Both the shipper and my customer who called me his dinner table due the problem.
The next morning Paula had surprisingly sent a driver in ealry to pick up the load. He called me to say he could not find it. I advised that he put me through hours of bullshit, it cost me $150 to shunt the load to a secure yard and gave him the address for it.
The receiver is at the delivery and decides the driver can friggin well wiat now to be unloaded after interupting his dinner last night. I explain that two wrongs don't make a right and I want him unloaded as soon as possible. I assure him I will never use this carrier again for his shipments or any for that matter.
In the end the driver was made to wait and Paul advised me that he is billing waiting time. I remind him that I am deducting $150.00 for the shunt. He tells me then he wants $900 for waiting time. My order specified 2 hours free so I pointed out that technically I owe him for 2 1/2 hours. He drops to $400. That is $160.00 an hour. My lawyer don't even charge that kind of money.
After a few disagreeable moments and several calls later, I advise that he should just send the bill for whatever the hell he wants. I will pay whatever the hell I want.
What i won't do is let my blood pressure go through the roof as I have suffered a stroke recently. He says I don't give a *uc* if you did or not.
My husband had been listening to me and him discuss this for several minutes and could see I was no longer calm enough to continue and took the phone away from me and hung up on him.
I admit not a very professional way to deal with this carrier but some people are just not worth the time or effort.
I may have lost the client. Have not heard from him since.
