Manitoba truck-bus crash leaves at least 15 dead, echoes Humboldt tragedy

This is horrfic and a senseless loss of lives - the familes of those affected will never be the same. Our prayers are with the families.

Two of our trucks went through the intersection yesterday - there is a stop sign on the median on hwy 5 before entering Hwy 1 ... the Day and Ross truck had dash cam so footage will be useful.
Trucks are speed regulated so speeding not an issue - the truck had right of way as it was on Hwy 1 - the major road

I hope social media doesn't deliver a verdict wihout all the facts being sorted out. Sometimes the commerical vehicle MAY not be at fault.

For the sake of the industry I sure hope the bus driver messed up. Not all truck in the west are at 105 that is an Ontario and Quebec thing. Hell most Ontario and Quebec trucks are not governed anymore either just look at all the Peel region carriers doing 120 in the hammer lane of 401.RIP to those that lost their lives and condolences to the families of all invloved.

I believe this was a pike truck - one trailer and the dolly ... Day and Ross has them governed per my buddy - and yes praying this was not the trucker's fault

from most reporters take, it is indeed the bus who made the unfortunate mistake.

Let’s take 2 guys from India, put them in a truck that weighs 100klbs and send them on a route that even most experienced drivers won’t take, one of the worst highways in the country and tell them to switch trailers in Vancouver in 48 hours and let’s put our heads in the sand and hope a disaster doesn’t happen.
RIP to all that passed away that didn’t have to and hope the trucker wasn’t at fault or the peanut gallery will go on another offensive.

It is somewhat possible that the Day and Ross driver was not from India. It is also highly possible, at this point, that he was not at fault. So, let's not hijack this thread in this direction just yet.

Latest reports from local RCMP are that the truck had the right of way. Cold comfort for all those you have suffered a loss. Both drivers will carry this horror with them the rest of the lives. An absolute tragedy.
