Has anybody heard of or dealt with M.E.I. Transport from Lasalle PQ.?
Seems the paperwork doesn't match the company.

Be cautious with this company!!! I booked a load with Steve last Thursday who told me he was with M.E.I Transport. Sent me over his package with his auths and insurance. Friday morning I couldn't reach him on both of the numbers that were on his package. Checked link and found another number for him. Talked to Israel at M.E.I. and found out there was no Steve who worked for them and they didn't service the lane that I booked the freight for!

Steve has taken their docs and is sending out their package as his own. I fortunately found out in time before the truck could be loaded on Friday morning. I'm positive the intent was to steal this freight. Isreal from M.E.I. is aware, didn't seem to concerned though which I found strange.

I suggested he call his insurance company and police, not sure if he did or not.

Agreed,

I've worked with Israel - at the real MEI a few times (there are a few moves since they opened in 1998 so keeping track of addresses is a must). They do good work only between NJ and NY in/out of QC. PARS stickers matched up though (you had me worried there for a sec).

This Steve guy sounds like a character to stay away from!!

Keep well,
Mike

These guys have been around for a long time. They compete with Maisliner and P&B on greater NYC freight - to and from MTL.

Do not go out and look at the equipment picking up your freight because you would not let them leave with it. Although once out of sight they get the job done.

I would call them the Montreal version of FTC or Felter out of TO.

I believe they have something to do with Red Bull Transport.

Some one named Steve has got ahold of MEI paperwork and is looking to take your freight. Probably to a place it shouldn't go. Verify with Israel at the real MEI before giving them any.

What does this mean?

This is really worrying.
